Minnesota’s standard of living index is among the highest in the United States, and the state is also among the best-educated and wealthiest in the nation. The economy of Minnesota had a gross domestic product of $262 billion in 2008. In 2008, thirty-three of the United States’ top 1,000 publicly traded companies (by revenue) were headquartered in Minnesota, including Private companies based in Minnesota include Cargill.

Minnesota Grown: The Minnesota Grown Program is a statewide partnership between the Minnesota Department of Agriculture and Minnesota producers of specialty crops and livestock. It was created nearly 30 years ago by specialty crop growers to differentiate their produce from produce grown thousands of miles away.
